The cover photo is thanks to the family of Lawrence C. Schubert of Marshfield, WI. This photo was taken during her visit to the Whang-Poo River in Shanghai, China shortly after the end of WW-II.

There is an interesting article on the internet about World War II veteran Donald Hughes and his experiences aboard the Maggoffin at Guam and at Okinawa Click here to read this article.

Do you believe you were affected by Agent Orange while aboard the Magoffin? Thanks to the efforts of Richard Wood, BM2 the Magoffin is now on the Roster of "Agent Orange Alphabetized Ships List" on the US Department of Veterans Affairs website. http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/shiplist/list.asp#M

This listing should make a claim much easier to process through the VA.

Thanks to Richard for his hard work to get this accomplished.
